"It was a very successful day at the test and tune yesterday," said Wolf. "For the first time together at the track, the team did a great job of working together, and everything seemed to mesh very well. There are a few bugs to work out, but nothing serious at all.
"We started the day out with 70 lap old tires from last year, and by the time the second practice session was over and done with the car was great on entry, through the middle, and off the corner as well," Wolf continued. "Crew Chief Jason Horne made a spring change for our third and final time on the track and the car remained just as consistent as it was prior to the change. Our fastest time of the day came during our third and final session with about 130-140 laps on our tires.
"I am optimistic when we put four new GoodYear tires on that thing that we will pick up another 0.2 to 0.3 seconds per lap, and remain consistent. They are currently predicting 60-70 cars for next Sundays opener at Lee, and qualifying will be extremely tough to say the least." |
